In February, reports stated Lee Sung Kyung was in discussion to star in a new Wednesday-Thursday rom-com. The genre isn’t out of the norm for her with recent shows like “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo”. But word just came in that Ji Chang Wook may participate in the project as well. An SBS representative stated on Thursday: “Ji Chang-Wook has not decided whether to accept the offer or not.” While we’re used to seeing him act in the romance genre with recent works like Healer and The K2, those have all been action-based, including his recent film Fabricated City. This upcoming drama, while being touted as a romantic comedy, will have a suspense element which could lead him to making use of his martial arts skills again.”
If Lee Sung Kyung accepts, she will play Eun Bong Hee, a person who used to train in taekwondo and later becomes a trainee in the legal system. Although we don’t have much details on the role Ji Chang Wook is considering. With the series based around the law system, he could potentially be a prosecutor or lawyer.
The series is slated to air in May following the conclusion of “Saimdang: Light’s Diary”.
